One of the most famous winemakers of the Salento is actually two sisters. Their top wine is Graticciaia from the Negroamara grape, an impenetrable color typical of this grape which gets it name from the Latin nigro and the Greek mavro (black).
In 2013, the Oscar del Vino was awarded to Five Roses Anniversario 2011 Leone de Castris as the best rosato of the year.
